Survey: Most have seen significant change to radiology department design in digital age
Transforming a radiology department to digital image acquisition, reading, and storage does not just mean a shift in technology but also a change in the physical layout of a department. That was the consensus (70 percent) of HealthImaging.com readers that responded to last week's survey. Obviously it's not true all of the time, as 30 percent of respondents have seen no change. Perhaps some departments had plenty of room to begin with and the adjustments were only minor, if at all.

A recent presentation (link: http://www.healthimaging.com/content/view/4309/142/) related to this subject was given at the annual meeting of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM, formerly SCAR) two weeks ago in Austin, Texas.
