AT&T issues RFID for healthcare industry
AT&T has made a radio frequency identification (RFID) tracking service available for healthcare operations, to increase visibility and safety by monitoring patients and equipment.

AT&T said it will provide a wi-fi-enabled, location-based service to track equipment, devices and patients, which the staff can access from a web browser.

Data collected by RFID can be used to manage mobile asset inventory across a single healthcare facility or multiple sites, for the purpose of alerting staff when equipment is low, or if it was just misplaced, according to AT&T.
