TDK, a recording media storage firm, has decided to exit the medical business by Sept. 30.
As of that date, TDK will no longer accept orders for medical-grade recording media.
According to the Garden City, N.Y.-based TDK, orders received between Aug. 21 and Sept. 30 will be notified of acceptance or rejection of orders within 48 business hours of receipt. Decisions on whether to accept orders will be based on TDK’s ability to fulfill each order, according to the firm’s release.
As of Oct. 1, Rimage of Minneapolis, Minn., will take over TDK’s call center function and work with Anacomp to manage all existing service contracts. Rimage, at its discretion, will offer a number of warranty options to TDK’s customer base as existing contracts expire, according to the release.
