Toshiba rolls out short high-field MRI system
Toshiba America Medical Systems (TAMS) on Wednesday launched its new Excelart Vantage 1.5-tesla (1.5T) high-field MRI system equipped with what the company asserts is the world's shortest magnet.

The hardware platform is designed for all imaging techniques. The Vantage features half-Fourier RF refocused sequence for very high speed 2D and 3D T2 weighted imaging. The technique has been adapted for imaging vascular structures in the abdomen and chest. TAMS adds that the technique aids in magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) imaging of venous and arterial vessels that can be simultaneously visualized without the use of contrast agents.

The Excelart Vantage also offers BasicSoft, an anatomically oriented imaging protocol package, which contains a range of standard pulse sequences, including high-resolution FSE and its single-shot variations of FASE and multi-slab MRA.
