U.K. hospital installs Siemens ultrasound
Birmingham Women's NHS Foundation Trust in England has installed two of Siemens Healthcare's Acuson S2000 ultrasound systems in its Fetal Medicine Centre.

Taking referrals for suspected fetal abnormalities, the department is using the new systems for screening cardiac defects as well as assessing mothers with conditions such as diabetes and epilepsy, according to Siemens.

The system's imaging capabilities provide border definition and tissue contrast. The company said that the image quality of the Acuson S2000 is also being used to assist fetal diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
