USTeleradiology buys Pennsylvania teleradiology company
USTeleradiology, a provider of offsite radiology services, has acquired University Nighthawk Partners, also known as Nighthawk Pros, which provides after-hours preliminary reports to hospitals throughout the United States.

The Atlanta-based company said the acquisition will allow it to leverage Roysford, Penn.-based Nighthawk Pros' physicians, licenses, technology and distributive workflow processes against its current teleradiology center-based platform.

The company projects that the acquisition of Nighthawk Pros, along with the launch of USTeleMammography in 2006, of which USTeleradiology owns a majority interest, will take its projected annual revenue into the $11-12 million range for 2008.

Taken together, the entities serve close to 100 facilities across the United States, with a combined daily volume in the 750-900 study range, according to USTeleradiology.

Nighthawk Pros will continue to be lead by its founding physician and current CEO, Maheep Goyal, MD, while Frank Ferraro, MD, continues to lead USTeleradiology on its current course of expansion through growth and the pursuit of an acquisition strategy involving regional and national teleradiology operations, USTeleradiology said.

The company said that the three entities will initially operate separately with some shared management and operations.
