VA selects Picis
The VA Sierra Pacific Network has purchased Picis Inc.’s CareSuite Anesthesia Manager, Preop Manager and PACU Manager. The group of five medical centers in Northern Calif. and Nevada will implement Picis to automate anesthesia documentation and the recovery room process of all surgical cases, streamlining clinician workflow before, during and after surgery.
The hospital network will combine CareSuite Anesthesia Manager with Picis critical care software, which is already live in the ICUs of all five medical centers.
VA Palo Alto Medical Center, a 300-bed tertiary care medical center within the Sierra Pacific Network, went live with Picis Anesthesia Manager and PACU Manager in 2005, as part of a pilot project to computerize the management of anesthesia care in its 12 operating rooms and 12 post anesthesia care unit beds. The success of this pilot helped support the purchase of the Picis anesthesia modules for the entire Sierra Pacific Network of hospitals.
