Varian introduces PaxScan panels
CHICAGO, Nov. 25—Varian Medical Systems today introduced two new PaxScan products at the 93rd annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago.

The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company said its PaxScan 4336R is a 14- x 17-inch detector is designed to replace a standard film cassette for use in radiographic applications.

The PaxScan 4343R is a flat-panel x-ray image 17- x 17-inch detector, designed for permanent mounting in radiographic tables or wall stands, or for any application that requires a large field of view, Varian said.

Both panels come bundled with VIVA software and incorporate detector arrays and readout electronics, image data and control signals and have housings and cable attachments designed for simple integration into diagnostic imaging systems.
