Varian launches information systems division with Hanna at the helm
Varian Medical Systems has formed an Oncology Information Systems unit and named Chris Hanna, PhD, as VP of the new division.
According to Varian, the new Oncology Information Systems unit, which combines the company's VARiS Vision and OpTx software products for practice management in cancer clinics, was formed to develop and market the company's informatics software for the management of radiation oncology and medical oncology practices.
Hanna was most recently CEO of TeraMedica Inc., a medical software technology company that he co-founded to develop and commercialize software for medical information and image management and storage. He has also worked for ALI Technologies and Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.
