Vidar features DR systems that are easier on the wallet

VIDAR Systems Corp. showcased its VIDAR VISION Digital Radiography product line of full-featured, DR systems at the Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) 2006 Radiology Summit this week in Miami, Fla. The systems are designed for facilities of all sizes from imaging centers, orthopedic practices, small to medium hospitals, private clinics, and outpatient areas of large hospitals. This being a business manager meeting, Vidar emphasized the relative affordability of their systems, with both systems in the line coming in at under $200,000 a room. This could be potential music to the ears of imaging center administrators that are worrying more and more over their budgets.

The VIDAR VISION 4000 features a 4K detector for higher-resolution imaging needs and is designed for high-volume imaging centers, orthopedic practices, and hospitals. The VIDAR VISION 2000, with a 2K detector, is more suited for lower volume office-based use, according to the company.

The company also highlighted its Diagnostic Pro Advantage film digitizer built for scanning x-ray films. The digitizer is sold by most leading PACS companies, VIDAR said.
