Virtual Radiologic balances infrastructure load with Enterprise Connect
Virtual Radiologic highlighted its productivity solution for radiology groups and academic medical centers, vRad Enterprise Connect, at the 2008 RSNA conference in Chicago last month.

vRad Enterprise Connect, which debuted last year at RSNA, combines the company’s propriety web-based workflow platform and access to its Operations Center, which is staffed 24/7 to handle radiologist’s administrative, clinical and technical requests. With four variations of the system available, users can get a unified solution for disparate systems with an IT overlay, Matt Cox, vice president of product management, told Health Imaging News.

“People are beginning to look to teleradiology for a infrastructure platform that can balance workloads and improve turn-around times,” Cox said. With vRad Enterprise, all radiology orders are located on a single, unified platform with rules-based routing.

The company also showcased its expanding subspecialty radiology services, including emergent and non-emergent preliminary and final interpretations provided by the company’s 145-contracted, U.S.-based radiologists. Virtual Radiologic also promoted a recent partnership with a teleradiology provider in Brazil to deploy vRad Enterprise Connect throughout the country.
