Zonare introduced its new Zone Speed Technology (ZST) at ECR 2006 in Vienna, Austria, last week which is enabled through Zone Sonography technology as part of the company’s z.one ultrasound system. Not all bodies can be imaged the same with ultrasound. Various factors such as wall thickness, fat layer and tissue attenuation impact how ultrasound sound waves travel through an individual's body. ZST provides the ability to automatically adjust the sound speed based on differences in a patient's body habitus which, in turn, immediately optimizes the clinical image, the company said.
   
Other upgrades to the z.one ultrasound system included three new transducers, and calculation packages.
