GE Healthcare announced the acquisition of XPRO, a Brazilian interventional x-ray equipment manufacturer company with more than 120 systems (analog and digital) installed at private customer sites. Terms of this transaction were not disclosed.
XPRO of São Paulo will be part of GE's Detection & Guidance Solutions (DGS) unit. DGS is a $2 billion global business, made up of eight separate business segments that currently employ more than 1,700 employees. The DGS business distributes products and services in all geographies, and has engineering and manufacturing capability in the U.S., France, Hungary, India and China. XPRO will expand DGS' engineering and manufacturing presence in Brazil, and add an additional 132 employees, according to GE.
XPRO currently supports local Brazilian private customers, including hospitals and clinics.
