Cerner To Acquire IMC Health Care
Cerner has reached an agreement to acquire IMC Health Care of Jacksonville, Fla., which provides employer-sponsored onsite health centers.

This acquisition expands services that Kansas City, Mo.-based Cerner already provides to its employees, including operating a primary care clinic on its main campus, according to the company.

With the acquisition, Cerner said it expects to expand offerings to other employers and increase the capabilities for existing IMC's clients. IMC has 15 employer clients and operates 23 employee health centers throughout the country, according to Cerner.

Terms of the deal, expected to close in the first quarter of 2010, were not disclosed. The acquisition will not have a material impact on Cerner's 2010 financial results, the company said.

According to the company, Don Stubbs, senior vice president of business development, and Tom Neville, senior vice president of operations, will join Cerner and help lead Cerner's employer health initiatives.
