Healthcare applications developer Compressus revealed several MEDxConnect product line expansions including the introduction of Study Routing Management technology, which permits diagnostic imaging clinicians to review and diagnose any study from any workstation on an enterprise network, at the 2008 HIMMS conference in Orlando, Fla.
The MEDxConnect System is a suite of tools designed to manage the workflow of an imaging healthcare enterprise and has the power to connect disparate HIS/RIS/PACS systems and provide automated interoperability to the enterprise. MEDxConnect allows an organization with disparate multi-vendor systems to function as one virtual enterprise.
New routing technology by the MEDxConnect Medical Message Mediator, in conjunction with the firm’s MEDxConnect Virtual Worklist, is capable of automatically retrieving all relevant information for a requested study, the company said. Using the application, a clinician is able to receive pre-fetched historical studies, all appropriate historical data, reports and orders for a study request.
The MEDxConnect System, using the HL7 and DICOM standards, is also able to achieve customer prescribed delivery of appropriate data for review and diagnosis wherever it is needed throughout an enterprise.
Compressus also demonstrated a new integration of the MEDxConnect System to Philips Healthcare’s iSite PACS. The company has expanded its MEDxConnect Demographic xInterface, allowing it to include a close-coupled interface to the Philips iSite system. In addition, the integration includes the capability to use the MEDxConnect Virtual Worklist from any workstation in an enterprise.
