EMC introduces new storage, expansion options
EMC has released two new deduplication storage systems and expansion options, including the EMC Data Domain DD670 and the EMC Disk Library 5000 series.

The DD670 storage system can support 5.4 terabytes per hour of aggregate deduplication throughput, up to 76 terabytes of raw capacity or up to 2.7 petabytes of logical capacity with 50 times data reduction. The system incorporates Intel's Xeon Processor 5500 Series technology and EMC Data Domain Boost software, said the Hopkinton, Mass.-headquartered company.

In addition to the EMC Disk Library 5000 Series, the company is also offering a new deduplication storage expansion option for its Disk Library for mainframe systems, said EMC.
