IBA Health Lorenzo EMR now available in the U.K.
IBA Health, owner of software developer iSoft, has officially launched Lorenzo, EMR software that the company said is promised to three-fifths of the English NHS hospital trusts.

South Birmingham Primary Care Trust in the United Kingdom has also started to pilot the first version of the software, built on a service-oriented architecture platform, IBA said.

Under the £12.7 billion ($19.4 billion U.S.) NHS National Programme for IT, Lorenzo is meant to be delivered to 60 percent of NHS trusts by prime contractor Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) in a series of software releases between now and 2012, according to the Sydney, Australia-based company.

The company said that Lorenzo enables healthcare providers to manage their processes while giving secure authorized access to patient information to those who need it.
