Health IT companies Picis and iSOFT have entered into a strategic alliance whereby iSOFT will distribute, implement and provide international support for selected software from Picis’ high-acuity CareSuite.
According to the Westfield, Mass.-based Picis, the alliance will initially focus on intensive care units and anesthesia in the U.K., Ireland, Scandinavia, Australia and New Zealand, and achieves a greater presence for Picis within these markets.
The agreement enables hospitals to deploy the health IT software from one source, according to Picis. The product lines between Picis and the Manchester, England-based iSoft were a factor in establishing this alliance, the company stated.
Currently, Frimley Park Hospital and Torbay Hospital—two National Healthcare Services trusts in England—are employing the integrated health IT offering from Picis and iSoft.
