The National Governors Association’s State Alliance for e-Health is seeking nominations for two task forces which will focus on ways for states to cooperate on health IT issues.
The task forces will examine regulatory and legal issues relative to maintaining appropriate privacy and security protections while facilitating appropriate interoperable exchange of e-health information and the impact of the issues on healthcare practices.
Task force members will also examine issues regarding state government roles in the exchange of e-health information, including options and best practices related to purchasing healthcare, funding initiatives, regulating industry and protecting consumers.
The State Alliance for e-Health is a consensus-based, executive-level body of state elected (and appointed) officials to collectively address state-level health IT issues and challenges to interoperable electronic health information exchange.
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology funds the State Alliance.
