RSNA: DR Systems to unveil cloud computing technology to share images
Healthcare information systems provider DR Systems (Booth #6229) is unveiling eMix, its cloud-based technology for sharing imaging studies and reports, at RSNA 2009.
eMix, which stands for Electronic Medical Information Exchange, enables the sharing of images and reports between disparate institutions and physicians via the Internet. It also can help facilitate associating patient images to EMRs and patients’ personal health records, according to the Chicago-based company.
The technology could eliminate the need for a facility to burn CDs, print films or fax reports. DR Systems also said that security is ensured by the fact that no patient data resides on the eMix Web servers; and the patient controls the authorization process and creates an audit trail.
