Dossia has deployed its personal health record (PHR) to Wal-Mart associates as part of its open enrollment period to connect the employees with their health information, in a collaboration between Dossia, Wal-Mart and WebMD.

Through the Dossia system, Wal-Mart associates will have access to and control over their lifelong, personal, private and portable health information, via a web-based infrastructure that will store and manage that information, according to the Portland, Ore.-based company.

The health IT consortium Dossia said it is providing and storing the PHRs and the data, but the record will be under the exclusive control of the Wal-Mart associate.
