ACR helps NIH exceed funding goals for 2018

The American College of Radiology (ACR), along with more than 300 stakeholder organizations that form the Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research, exceeded its 2018 funding goals with the $1.3 trillion federal budget signed March 23 by President Donald Trump.

According to an ACR release, the Ad Hoc Group advocated for an increase of $2 billion for fiscal year 2018 for the National Institutes of Health. The signed legislation included $37 billion in funding, an increase of $3 billion, including more than $5.6 billion for the National Cancer Institute and $377.8 million for the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering.
