Political funds stacked against radiologists running for office

The American College of Radiology Association PAC is directing funds to the Tennessee and Kansas Republican primary races. The twist? The money is going to be used against radiologists running for office.

According to a report from National Journal, Sens. Lamar Alexander and Pat Roberts are being supported by the ACR Association PAC for their roles on Senate panels with jurisdiction over healthcare issues. Roberts is being challenged by radiologist Milton Wolf, MD, while radiologist George Flinn, MD, is among the challengers for Alexander’s seat.

The ACR Association PAC is spending more than $230,000 on the two primary races, according to the National Journal report.
