The National Lung Screening Trial showed that low-dose CT screening can catch lung cancer at an early stage, but it can work only if somebody picks up the bill for the CT scan.

According to a Worcester Telegram & Gazette report, since Medicare, Medicaid and most insurers won’t pay for CT screening, a number of programs in Massachusetts are devising alternate methods to pay for a patient’s CT scan. Read more at the link below.
