Medical imaging technology industry generates $3B in economic activity for Washington state

A report commissioned by the Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance shows the medical imaging technology industry supports an estimated 12,124 jobs in the state of Washington and generates approximately $3.1 billion in total economic activity.

This activity creates an additional 5,169 jobs elsewhere in the U.S., the report added.

John Dunham and Associates conducted the analysis using data provided by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, the Washington state government and business intelligence firm Dun & Bradstreet.

Breaking down the impact of economic activity generated, the analysis found the production of medical imaging technology and its use in medical facilities yields $1.8 billion in direct economic output, while industry suppliers and employers fuel the additional $1.3 billion.

Washington’s 37 medical imaging technology firms, their suppliers and employees provide $428 million in government revenue across the federal, state and local levels.
