Compuware buys dynaTrace for $256M
Compuware has acquired privately held application performance management (APM) developer dynaTrace software for $256 million in a cash acquisition that closed July 1.

Waltham, Mass.-based dynaTrace offers APM and performance optmization services, and employs 180 people globally. Most of these employees, including the leadership team, are expected to remain with Detroit-based Compuware, the company stated.

The acquisition is expected to add between $35 million and $45 million to Compuware’s fiscal year 2012 revenues. In FY ’13, Compuware, which provides performance management software, expertise and best practices, said it expects the dynaTrace deal to add nearly $100 million to its top line.
