Intelerad releases new remote viewing tools, updates PACS
PACS developer Intelerad Medical Systems has formed a strategic technology partnership with Fovia to provide integrated High-Definition Volume Rendering (HDVR) for its IntelePACS and InteleOne software. Simultaneously, the company released two new web-based technologies, InteleFlex remote reading and InteleWeb remote viewing tool, for radiologists and referring physicians.

The Palo Alto, Calif.-based Fovia said its HDVR software offers CPU-based real-time rendering of datasets in 3D. The Montreal-based Intelerad said it will provide Fovia’s HDVR technology as a native tool within IntelePACS and InteleOne.

InteleFlex is an add-on remote reading tool for radiologists who need to read for one or multiple remote acquisition sites, to offer sub-specialty coverage to different facilities and to accommodate after-hours shifts or to be able to read from home, according to the company. InteleFlex offers a reading and reporting environment with Intelerad’s workflow, worklist and InteleViewer components.

InteleWeb, the referrers’ web server tool, allows imaging centers and hospitals to offer a remote viewing environment for medical images and reports to their referral base, Intelerad said. InteleWeb provides HIPAA compliant administrative tools for managing and automating access to patient data at both the user and group-practice levels. The native 64-bit InteleViewer for Mac users offers a viewing experience and leverages Apple's Mac OS X 64-bit Intel micro-processing power.
