Johnson & Johnson unit purchases remanufacturer SterilMed
Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a surgical device unit of Johnson & Johnson, has announced plans to buy SterilMed, a privately-held company that remanufactures and sells pre-owned medical equipment.

Maple Grove, Minn.-based SterilMed will be managed as part of the Ethicon Endo-Surgery franchise, according to a company statement, but will continue to operate as a standalone company and retain the name SterilMed.

Ethicon, which is headquartered in Cincinnati, did not disclose terms of the deal.
