Miami-based OPKO Health has acquired Woburn, Mass.-based Claro Diagnostics, a developer of a method to use microfluidics to perform up to 20 tests with a drop of blood.

The system consists of a disposable test cassette and a small desktop analyzer. Used together, the two perform blood tests and permit the transition of complex immunoassays to physicians’ offices, according to a release. The equipment can also be used for urology and infectious disease market applications, according to the company.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
