Barco (Booth #8329) is showing its LED backlight technology, which has been integrated into Coronis Fusion 6MP DL display and Mammo Tomosynthesis 5MP display, at RSNA 2012 in Chicago, Nov. 25-30.

LED illumination is designed to provide brightness and a longer lifetime, while consuming less energy, according to Barco.

The Coronis Fusion 6MP DL diagnostic display allows radiologists to view chest, lung, orthopedic and other types of images. Radiologists can display grayscale and color 2D/3D CT, MR and catheterization images side-by-side using the monitor as one wide-screen desktop or two 3MP heads.

Barco's Mammo Tomosynthesis 5MP display is geared to breast cancer detection. Features include RapidFrame, which counteracts motion blur when scrolling through dozens of images; Per Pixel Uniformity, which measures and adjusts the luminance of each pixel; SmoothGray, which eliminates quantization artifacts; and DuraLight Nova, which ensures diagnostic luminance of 1,000 cd/m².
