Siemens Healthineers develop new platform for CT

Siemens Healthineers now have a new platform for computed tomography (CT) after many of its customers groups in radiology expressed their needs.

The Somatom go. platform meets various amount of needs such as automated and standardized workflows which excels business goals. These scanners are also able to be controlled via a tablet so the medical staff will no longer need to take steps between the CT scanner and the control room. This new advancement will give patients a much better experience, especially for those who may encounter some anxiety during the scan.

"If a patient feels that someone is close by, it is perceived as better care," said associate professor Matthias May, MD in the Military Technologies aricle.

This move came about after Siemens Healthineers held more than 500 interviews and workshops with radiologists to hear their thoughts on what an ideal CT scanner would be.
