Royal Philips Electronics and Vidyo are collaborating to offer health system providers an approach for extending telehealth tools across the enterprise.

Philips' enterprise telehealth tools will incorporate remote physiologic monitoring, clinical decision support and Vidyo’s Adaptive Video Layering Technology, into a clinical platform for communications and collaboration, the companies stated. The interoperable platform, based on the eICU program, will aggregate clinical informatics tools.

Vidyo’s Adaptive Video Layering Technology continuously monitors the performance of the underlying network and capabilities of endpoint devices and video streams are adapted to optimize communications. The Vidyo Application Programming Interface (API) supports customization and integration of telehealth technologies into clinical workflows, the companies added.
