Gregory Erickson, a Florida State University professor of biological science, and a team of researchers set out to find out how long it took for a baby dinosaur to incubate using CT scanners in the process.
The researchers scanned the embryonic jaws to take a look at the forming dentitions and then removed several teeth to examine them under microscopes.
For a long time, scientists had theorized that it took dinosaurs about the same amount of time it took birds to incubate, in the range of 11 to 85 days, due to its large eggs.
However, after Erickson and his team completed the study, they put those theories to rest and found that it took dinosaurs approximately three to six months to hatch their eggs.
