GE showcases new SPECT/CT
GE Healthcare has debuted its Discovery NM/CT 670, a hybrid nuclear imaging platform which combines the company’s BrightSpeed Elite 16-slice CT and a new SPECT gantry, at the 2009 European Association of Nuclear Medicine congress in Barcelona, Spain, this week.

With conventional nuclear hybrid imaging, a traditional bone imaging protocol can take up to 55 minutes.The new platform has the capability to shorten acquisition time to as little as 25 minutes as well as improve dose management, according to GE.

The Discovery NM/CT 670 is not yet available for sale in the United States.
