British brain imaging study to focus on LSD

Scientists at Imperial College London are trying to complete a brain imaging study to demystify the effects of the psychedelic drug LSD, and they are turning to crowdfunding to support the project.

David Nutt, DM, psychiatrist and professor of psychopharmacology, and colleagues are looking for an additional 25,000 pounds ($38,000) to complete their work, according to a Reuters report. The study would produce the first images of a brain on LSD and could increase understanding of how the drug could help treat afflictions such as alcoholism, depression and anxiety.
