Positron system to offer Amyvid PET scans
Positron is using its Attrius system at Caring Heart and Brain Imaging of Manasquan, N.J., which now offers Amyvid PET scans to identify the presence of plaque in the brain, which has been shown to be a precursor to Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Amyvid (Florbetapir F-18 Injection) is indicated for PET imaging of the brain to estimate beta-amyloid neuritic plaque density in adult patients with cognitive impairment who are being evaluated for AD and other causes of cognitive decline.

"We are pleased that our Attrius PET system could possibly help with the identification and management of this disease," stated Joseph Oliverio, chief technology officer and director of PET clinical programs of Positron.
