Combined MicroSPECT and micro CT imaging can be used effectively to quantify intratumoral radioisotope uptake in vivo and has been found to be more reliable than techniques using planar or MicroSPECT imaging alone, according to a new study published in the online edition of the Journal of Molecular Imaging and Biology. The research team used a dual-modality MicroSPECT/micro CT in vivo imaging system from Gamma Medica-Ideas to carry out the study.
