Shared Imaging, a provider of CT, MRI and PET/CT systems and service programs for hospitals and healthcare providers, has acquired the operating assets of Pet Imaging Centers, a provider of mobile PET/CT services based in Morganville, N.J.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"The new acquisition will expand Shared Imaging's services to meet the needs of hospitals and health networks that have limited capital, but still want to provide the latest technological advancements to their patients," said Ray Stachowiak, president and CEO of the Streamwood, Ill.-based Shared Imaging. "Mobile PET/CT is an economical way for hospitals to offer their patients this powerful imaging tool for cancer diagnosis and the monitoring of treatment."
In addition to the mobile PET/CT services previously offered through Pet Imaging Centers, clients will now be able to access a greater pool of diagnostic programs offered by Shared Imaging, including long-term programs for CT, MRI, and PET/CT; short-term rental solutions for all modalities; and mobile MRI routes and services, the provider said.
