Swiss lab orders two Gamma Medica-Ideas systems
The Centre d’Imagerie Biomédicale (CIBM) in Lausanne, Switzerland, now owns two pre-clinical molecular imaging systems from Gamma Medica-Ideas (GM-I).

According to the Norwegian-based GM-I, its Flex Triumph platform, including an X-PET PET sub-system and X-O CT sub-system with the company’s Vivid software, is being installed at the nuclear medicine department of the University Hospital of Geneva, Switzerland.

The second system, a LabPET system, is being installed at École Polytechnique Fédérale of Lausanne (EPFL), GM-I said. The company also disclosed that it will install its MagPET system, a PET-MR insert system, at EPFL in 2008.

Scientists at the newly created CIBM will use the GM-I systems to develop PET agents, as well as for major research initiatives to expand molecular imaging, such as metabolic imaging of biochemical reactions in combination with MR imaging methods, GM-I said.
