UltraSPECT gets FDA nod for cardiac nuc med software
The FDA has granted nuclear medicine image reconstruction provider UltraSPECT clearance for its attenuation correction/scatter correction (ACSC) software package.

The new ACSC package is a field upgrade option for wide-beam reconstruction (WBR) cardiac image reconstruction products, which are used in conjunction with gamma camera systems with access to CT-generated attenuation maps, according to the Merrick, N.Y.-based company.

WBR products enhanced from the ACSC upgrade option are Xpress.Cardiac and Xpress3.Cardiac, which enable half-time and quarter-time acquisitions, respectively, according to the Haifa, Israel-based UltraSPECT.
