AHRQ releases eRx toolkit for physicians
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has released an e-prescribing toolkit for physician offices.

The purpose of the set is to provide practices with knowledge and resources to implement e-prescribing successfully, according to the agency. Designed for a diverse range of users including small, independent offices and large medical groups, the toolkit includes specific tools to support planning and decision-making, such as surveys to determine whether an organization is ready for e-prescribing, worksheets for planning the implementation and monitoring progress and templates for communicating the launch to patients.

“The toolset consists of 11 chapters that provide guidance on topics ranging from determining what type of system to implement and selecting a vendor to planning the implementation process, launching the system and determining if it is meeting the organization's needs,” AHRQ stated.

The toolkit can be found on AHRQ’s website.
