CACI provides information assurance support for DoD health system
CACI International announced it will supply information assurance solutions for the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Military Health System (MHS) Information Assurance Program under a new four-year, $64 million contract.
According to Bill Fairl, CACI president of U.S. Operations, "The Military Health System Information Assurance Program provides important safeguards against dedicated cyber attacks, and CACI is well equipped to offer the expertise and the resources to support the program's goals. Our Information Assurance Technology Center, in particular, is a key tool in creating effective information assurance solutions."
Under the terms of the award, CACI will provide support to the Technology Management, Integration and Standards (TMI&S) Directorate of the Tricare Management Activity, the DoD office that certifies that MHS information systems meet DoD standards for information technology security.
The Arlington, Va.-based company will continue providing information assurance services to TMI&S's western region and will expand its services to include the directorate's northern and southern regions.
The expansion is designed to better manage and secure a broad array of medical information and more efficiently serve the needs of the military community, CACI said.
With the award, CACI will also help provide security management, technical services and support for DoD certification and accreditation of MHS information systems.
The task order was made under the Defense Medical Information Systems/Systems Integration, Design, Development, Operations and Maintenance Services contract vehicle.
