Clinical trial unleashes polio against cancer

Researchers at Duke University have been testing a new approach to treating brain cancer patients with the help of an unlikely ally: the polio virus.

CBS’ “60 Minutes” recently profiled the patients and researchers involved, and showed how a re-engineered type of polio virus assists the body’s immune system in fighting off cancer cells, with remarkable results. Take a look at the report at the link below:
