Bryan Sivak has been appointed the new chief technology officer for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Sivak, currently Maryland's chief innovation officer, replaces Todd Park who was named federal chief technology officer in March.

Sivak has served as Maryland's chief innovation officer since April 2011—the first person in that role. Previously, he was chief technology officer for the District of Columbia. He also founded InQuira, a San Francisco-area privately held developer of customer support software.
