Aurora Imaging Technology’s 1.5Tesla Dedicated Breast MRI System is now available at Wellness Lubbock, a women’s imaging facility in Lubbock, Texas.

This is the fifth installation of the Aurora system in the state of Texas, according to the North Andover, Mass.-based company. The FDA-cleared dedicated breast MRI system is developed for the detection, diagnosis and treatment monitoring of breast disease.

Aurora said its system features a precision gradient coil design to provide a homogeneous elliptical field of view to image the breasts, the chest wall and axillae in a single, bilateral scan.

Founded by Jui-Lien Chou, MD, the Lubbock Cancer Center and Radiation Oncology of the South Plains opened Wellness Lubbock in 2001 to offer residents an imaging center specifically for women.
