Varian appoints Adler to clinical chief position
John R. Adler, Jr., MD, professor of neurosurgery and radiation oncology at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., has been named vice president and chief of new clinical applications for Varian Medical Systems, effective April 5.

Adler, who served as the former CEO, chairman and founder of radiosurgery device manufacturer Accuray, will represent Varian at medical meetings and work with radiation oncologists and surgeons to develop products and clinical approaches to improve the outcomes of radiosurgery, said Palo Alto, Calif.-based Varian.

According to the company, Adler will assist with Varian clinical products and aid in the development of its next-generation products.
