Varian, BrainLAB notch Arizona install
Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix is treating cancer and neurological disorders with technology from Varian Medical Systems of Palo Alto, Calif., and BrainLAB of Munich.

The Novalis Tx radiosurgery platform is being used to treat lung cancer, head and neck cancer, liver cancer, brain tumors, spine tumors and trigeminal neuralgia, according to the companies.

Varian and BrainLAB said that the Novalis Tx delivers stereotactic radiosurgery for tumors of the brain or spine, and stereotactic radiotherapy for tumors elsewhere in the body. The Novalis Tx platform at Banner Good Samaritan also is outfitted with Varian's RapidArc technology.

Banner Good Samaritan, which is part of Banner Health, is a non-profit healthcare provider with more than 650 licensed patient care beds.
