Aethon RFID robots installed in 10 VA hospitals
Dec. 3—Ten Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals will use radio frequency identification (RFID) robots from Aethon, designed to help track and deliver supplies.

Aethon said the VA Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network will install 21 of Aethon’s Tug robots across eight of its hospitals. Additionally, the VA Boston Healthcare System's Roxbury Campus and the VA Healthcare System of Ohio's Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Clinic in Columbus will each use three Tugs.

The Tug robots, which are about the size of a suitcase and can roam throughout a designated area via a mobile cart, are programmed with a hospital floor plan, the Pittsburgh-based Aethon said.
