AirWatch upgrades device management framework
Mobile device and smartphone management software developer AirWatch released AirWatch 5.13 which generates certifications on mobile devices for authentication and encryption.

After authenticating a mobile device user, AirWatch automatically generates certificates for authentication to networks, accelerated by deployments via AirWatch's Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) integration and certification management framework, according to the Atlanta-based company.

AirWatch can rotate and re-issue large volumes of service-based certificates on a monthly, weekly or daily basis, the company added.

In addition, for high-security environments--including some healthcare organizations--where users authenticate with smartcards and IT does not provide active directory passwords, AirWatch 5.13 can provide a certificate self-service portal. Through a domain single sign-on, this portal can assist other log-on methods to issue certificates using end-user credentials.
