Allscripts, a Chicago-based provider of clinical software and information systems, reported that Frankford Health Care System has selected its electronic health record (EHR) and practice management (PM) products to automate and connect clinical and administrative processes for 100 physicians.

Part of the Jefferson Health System, Frankford Health Care System includes three hospitals in the Philadelphia area as well as ambulatory care sites, primary care satellites, and specialty physician practices. The agreement with Allscripts takes advantage of recent changes to U.S. Stark regulations that now allow hospitals to provide certain assistance to physicians in purchasing healthcare information technology. Frankford will offer the Allscripts systems to employed and independent members of its medical staff.
